Booklets and websites
Understanding chemotherapy
Cancerbackup booklet. It explains what chemotherapy is, why it may be given, how treatment is planned, possible side effects, and how the patient may feel. You can view this booklet on-line, or contact Cancerbackup for a printed copy (free to patients).
Chemotherapy. Your questions answered
Royal Marsden on-line booklet. Explains what chemotherapy is, how it works, side effects etc. It has information on eating and drinking, mouth care, skin care, hair care, sexuality and feelings.
CancerHelp (Cancer Research UK) website
This site has a detailed section on chemotherapy. It explains what chemotherapy is, how it is given, possible side effects, how you may feel etc. There is also information on the side effects of individual chemotherapy drugs.
Captain Chemo website
This children's site is part of the website of the Royal Marsden NHS Trust. It has information on childhood cancers as well as adventures, activities and quizzes based on the Captain Chemo cartoon character.
