Most patients are able to have their treatment in the Oncology Day Care Suite at Noble's Hospital

The time spent receiving chemotherapy can vary from 30 minutes to several hours but most people go home again afterwards.

Some patients need to stay in hospital for a while - perhaps overnight, or for a few days.

Occasionally, some patients are able to have their chemotherapy at home. This may be because they are taking their drugs in tablet form, or because they can wear a pump that automatically gives them the right dose of drugs through a fine tube.

For some chemotherapy regimes, treatment can only be given in a specialist centre. The two centres most commonly used by Noble's Hospital are Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology and The Royal Liverpool Hospital. Children are usually treated in Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
