You will be in the treatment room for fifteen to twenty minutes.

The machine is switched on for only part of this time. The radiographers spend most of the time helping you to get into the right position, and explaining the procedure.

Your visit to the department may be longer than this... for example, you may need to see a doctor or have a blood test.

Sometimes there are delays that the staff just can't avoid, and this may mean your visit takes a little longer than expected. Please ask if you are concerned about delays.

Wherever possible, we will try to arrange your daily appointment at a convenient time for you, so that you can carry on with your normal routine away from the hospital.
