Macmillan Cancer Support - Cancer and complementary therapies
The Macmillan Cancer Support website covers general information on what complementary therapies are and how they may help the cancer patient. It briefly describes the more popular therapies, and includes useful addresses and a reading list. This information is also available in a booklet (free to patients) direct from Macmillan Cancer Support or from the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre.
Cancer Help - Complementary and Alternative Therapies
Cancer Research UK has a patient information website called CancerHelp, which has information on complementary therapies, with some general advice and brief information on some of the more popular therapies.
National Library for Health
This website has a section specifically about complementary and alternative therapies and the research available about each one. The website gives a list of research articles for each type of therapy. Some of the articles can be difficult to understand; but the information may be useful to discuss with your healthcare team if considering a particular type of therapy.
American Cancer Society - Complementary and Alternative Therapies
This website includes a large section on complementary and alternative approaches, with advice on how to choose a safe and suitable therapy. Many common and unusual therapies are covered.
