If you have Hodgkin’s disease, doctors will be able to see a particular type of cell (the Reed-Sternberg cell) when they look at your cancer under a microscope.

The Reed-Sternberg cell is not present in any of the Non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.

Any lymphoma that is not Hodgkin’s disease is called a Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
