You may experience some breathlessness or a cough about 6-12 weeks after your treatment is completed. This may be due to the radiotherapy, which can occasionally cause an inflammatory reaction in your lung. This is called pneumonitis. It can be treated with steroids although it usually resolves itself over a period of a few weeks. Your Doctor or Clinical Nurse Specialist will check this for you at a follow up appointment.

If you have any problems or worries, please tell your Consultant, GP or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
