Your own doctors, nurses and others in your health care team are the only people who can tell you about your particular cancer and its treatment.

Mesothelioma UK
The national Macmillan mesothelioma resource centre is a base from which high-quality information is available for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. There is also a freephone number 0800 169 2409.

British Lung Foundation
The British Lung Foundation has information on a range of lung-related conditions, including mesothelioma. They also have information and support on coping with lung related problems. 

Cancer Backup - Mesothelioma
The Cancerbackup website covers general information on mesothelioma, causes and diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, resources and support. This information is also available in a booklet (free to patients) direct from Cancerbackup or from the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre. The Cancer Backup website also has specific information on mesothelioma compensation.

CancerHelp UK - mesothelioma
Cancer Research UK has a patient information website called CancerHelp, which has information on a wide number of topics associated with mesothelioma.

Macmillan Cancer Support
Macmillan Cancer Support has a range of booklets designed to support people affected by breathlessness. These are available from the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre:

  • Managing breathlessness
  • Living with breathlessness
  • Coping with shortness of breath

Occupational and Environmental Diseases Association (OEDA)
This website has information on mesothelioma. The website aims to give general guidance to help you deal with the many problems which asbestos can cause and suggests who else may be able to help.

Ridings Asbestos Support & Awareness Group (RASAG)
The RASAG website has information on asbestos-related diseases and hosts a discussion forum. The Group produce free booklets about mesothelioma. RASAG runs the National Mesothelioma Helpline:

National Mesothelioma Helpline - 0113 231 1010 (Monday – Friday, 10am - 4pm)
A professional and confidential telephone helpline giving practical advice and counselling. Every Tuesday a specialist nurse is available to discuss specific medical issues.

Health and Safety Executive (UK)
Website contains information asbestos at home and UK Health & Safety regulations for workplaces.
