Listed below are the side effects your radiotherapy may cause. Click on a side effect for more information and advice.

As your radiotherapy progresses you may notice some side effects.

Remember that everyone is different. Some people experience more side effects than others do.

Remember that most side effects last only for a while. We call these short-term effects. If you get them, they will normally start about a week after your treatment begins. If you are also having chemotherapy they may start earlier and be a bit more noticeable.

The effects tend to last for a few weeks after treatment has finished, and then slowly settle down over the next three or four months.

Even if you do get some problems, we may be able to treat them. There are also things that you can do to help yourself feel better.
