Your nurse, doctor or radiographer can give you more advice about hair care, and coping with hair loss. They will be able to tell you how likely it is that you will lose some or all of your hair during your treatment.

Macmillan Cancer Backup - Coping with hair loss
The Macmillan Cancer Backup website covers how to cope with hair loss following chemotherapy or radiotherapy. It includes practical tips, suggestions for alternative headwear, lists of wig specialists and useful organisations. This information is also available in a booklet (free to patients) direct from Cancer Backup, or from the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre. The Macmillan Cancer Backup website also has specific information on scalp cooling.

Breast Cancer Care - Breast cancer and hair loss
Breast Cancer Care have a booklet available on hair loss and breast cancer. This booklet gives practical tips and suggestions for coping with hair loss, including a step-by-step guide to tying a headscarf. This booklet is suitable for people with any type of cancer, not just those with breast cancer.

Look Good Feel Better
A charity in the UK supporting women affected by hair loss due to cancer treatment - they provide skin care and make-up advice at workshops across the UK. They have a 'Look Good Feel Better Confidence Kit' including a DVD with information and guidance which can be ordered from their website (postage costs apply).

Book - Ramy Gafni's Beauty Therapy: The Ultimate Guide to Looking and Feeling Great While Living with Cancer (ISBN 1904977391) by Ramy Gafni
This book is written by a make-up artist who has experienced cancer, and gives practical tips on looking after your appearance whilst going through cancer treatment. It covers tips on skin care and how to apply make up. This book is available to borrow from the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre.
